Teeth Alignment

Teeth aligners are simple removable appliances that are used to align front teeth quickly and safely. They are ideal as a stand alone treatment or to prealign teeth prior to further cosmetic options such as bonding or minimal veneers.

The Inman Aligner and Invisalign solutions are perfect for fixing crowding or protrusion of the front teeth. It is really efficient and excellent value as in most cases just one appliance is needed. Both Inman Aligner and Invisalign are also really safe and kind to teeth.

There are many orthodontic aligners out there designed to quickly and effectively help realign your front teeth. We offer a couple of options, that are fast, effective and cheap, the Inman Aligner and Invisalign.

Both Invisalign and Inman Aligners are removable orthodontic option that realign the front teeth. They use Nickel-Titanium coil springs to apply opposing pressure on the front and back of your teeth. By applying a gentle force over a large range, it is possible to achieve results quickly.

There are three primary benefits to using the Inman Align and Invisalign systems. The first is time. These systems provide a fast orthodontic treatment, with a complete course time of around 6 months. The second major benefit is that it’s a removable orthodontic appliance. This means you can take the aligner out to eat, clean your teeth, or for occasions where you don’t want a visible wire. It must be worn for 16-20 hours a day to be effective. The final benefit is cost. Both Invisalign and Inman Aligners can be significantly cheaper than other alternatives. As with any orthodontic treatment cost is relative to the complexity of the case, and we will be able to advise you further.

Typical procedure
First an impression is made of your teeth, so that the lab can fabricate your aligner specifically for your mouth. After the aligner has been made there is an initial fitting where we check to ensure the device fits and is working. After that, you will need to wear the Inman Aligners for 16-20 hours a day, with regular checkups every 2-3 weeks to check the progress of the procedure. Procedure time takes up to 6 months, but times will vary depending on the case. Once your treatment has ended with the Inman Aligners we will retain your teeth to prevent them from coming out of alignment. We would discuss the best method of retainment with you.

Like with any orthodontic treatment, there is a period of adjustment where the aligner will cause some very mild discomfort and affect your speech. This typically fades within a few days or a week as you acclimatise to having an appliance in your mouth.

Your dentist will assess your condition and determine whether you are a suitable candidate for Inman Aligners. Generally speaking, Inman Aligners are ideally suited for anybody with mild to moderate misalignment of their front teeth. It does not treat rear teeth or major malocclusions. For these cases other orthodontic treatments are needed. Due to the removable nature of the orthodontic appliance it is not always seen as suitable for teenagers, but again this will be assessed by your dentist on a patient-by-patient basis. Removable orthodontic appliances are great for adults and busy professionals who don’t want to have permanent wires across their teeth over the course of treatment.
